How Translate Technical Documents collects, uses and protects personal data.

Who we are
Translate Technical Documents is a trading name of CorridorIQ Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17184725, registered office 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice.

What we collect
When you request an assessment, we collect the details you enter in the form: your name, company and work email address and, if you provide them, your phone number, industry, document types, target languages, approximate size, file formats, deadline and message.
When you email us, we collect your name, your email address and anything you include in your message.
When you visit this website, we collect anonymous usage statistics through Plausible Analytics. Plausible does not use cookies and does not store your IP address, so these statistics do not identify you. Our hosting and security providers process technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
How we use it and why
- To respond to your request, assess your files and prepare a quote. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries or, where you are contracting with us yourself, steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
- To deliver a project, invoice and keep business records if you become a client. Lawful basis: performance of our contract, and our legal obligation to keep financial records.
- To run and secure this website. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website.
We do not use your details for marketing, we do not sell them, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Documents you send us
We ask you not to send documents through this website. If you become a client, documents you send may contain personal data, such as names or contact details. We process that content only to deliver the translation, on your instructions, under our terms of business and any non-disclosure agreement in place.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with providers that help us run the business, under terms that require them to protect it:
- Netlify: website hosting and form handling
- Cloudflare: domain name services and website security
- Zoho: business email
- Plausible Analytics: anonymous website statistics
- Translators and revisers: only if you become a client, and only the project content they need, under confidentiality obligations
We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on the safeguards the provider offers, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a project: 12 months after our last contact with you.
- Client records: 6 years after the end of the project, to meet tax and legal obligations.
Form submissions held by our form provider are deleted within the same periods.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics are cookie-free. Our security provider may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the website from automated abuse. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent.
Security
This website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). We restrict access to personal data to the people who need it and use providers with established security controls.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Some of these rights apply only in certain circumstances. To use any of them, email info@translatetechnicaldocuments.com. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We update this notice when our practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
